The Town of Rivers is located 25 minutes northwest of Brandon (Manitoba’s second largest city) along Provincial Highway #25. It is nestled on the edge of the Little Saskatchewan River Valley, which is known for its scenic beauty. It has gently rolling hills and is surrounded by land that is used for agricultural purposes. The community of 1200 people is growing at a rate of 4% higher then the province of Manitoba according to the 2006 census and is a mixture of young and old alike, with something for everyone.
You will see a train theme running throughout the community; the caboose, box car and train rail arbour begin this theme. You can also take the VIA train to Rivers, as we are located on mainline CN. We provide a station stop here for passengers.
Agriculture accounts for most of the economic base for the Town of Rivers. There are agricultural businesses located within the community which include a seed cleaning and treating plant, testing lab, grain drying & shipping operations, storage elevator, large farm service sales, machinery and equipment repair as well as fertilizer and chemical dealers.
