GEOGRAPHY / DEMOGRAPHICS
The community of Baldur is located on Highway 23 and is the largest centre in the Rural Municipality of Argyle, which is located in south western Manitoba, almost equal distance from Brandon and Portage la Prairie. The RM of Argyle has a total population of 1220, with just under 400 in the community of Baldur.
ECONOMIC BASE
Argyle’s main industry is agriculture, with a diverse range of cereal crops. Livestock operations (both hogs and cattle) are another major part of the economy in the community.
RECREATION BASE
Rock Lake remains a major attraction for boaters and camping enthusiasts.
Centennial Park boasts baseball diamonds, a campground with serviced sites, picnic areas, washrooms, a playground and Belgium bowling alleys.
