Manitoba Payscales:
Doctors Manitoba (previously known as Manitoba Medical Association) recently negotiated a new contract for all physicians in the Province of Manitoba; the result is a very significant increase in pay scales April 1, 2009 and again April 1, 2010.

Class 1:
The physician does not meet the requirements of Class 2 or Class 3.
Class 2:
The physician meets any one (1) of the following requirements:
Class 3:
The physician has attained certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, or
The physician meets any two (2) or more of the following requirements:
Step 1:
A physician who has provided less than 1,760 hours of medical services as an independent contractor or 1 year of full-time medical services as an employee (or a combination thereof) with the same RHA/NMU.
Step 2:
A physician being paid at Step 1, who has provided 1,760 hours of medical services as an independent contractor or 1 year of full-time medical services as an employee (or a combination thereof) with the same RHA/NMU.
Step 3:
A physician being paid at Step 2, who has provided an additional 1,760 hours of medical services as an independent contractor or an additional year of full-time medical services as an employee (or a combination thereof), with the same RHA/NMU.
Emergency Room Stipend:
Basic A Facility (Russell, Neepawa & Souris Health Centres):
April 1, 2009 (24 hour coverage)
$760.35 – Weekday Stipend
$1140.50 – Weekend/Holiday Stipend
April 1, 2010 (24 hour coverage)
$778.45 – Weekday Stipend
$1167.65 – Weekend/Holiday Stipend
Basic B Facility (all other health centres in the ARHA):
April 1, 2009 (24 hour coverage)
$633.60 – Weekday Stipend
$950.45 – Weekend/Holiday Stipend
April 1, 2010 (24 hour coverage)
$648.70 – Weekday Stipend
$973.10 – Weekend/Holiday Stipend
In addition to above stipend: 12 hour fee for service billing on weekdays and 24 hour fee for service billing on weekends/holidays.
